• Phoenix didn’t purchase that hat, it was free as far as he’s concerned.
• Phoenix said that they’re working hard and they’re making good progress on the new album, could mean that the new single could be out “sooner than possible”
• He isn’t sure when they’ll be touring in Europe. they’re meeting next week they might discuss it. He said they’ll probably go to places they’ve been to before and new places.
• Phoenix said there will be US touring, (answered the question if LP will tour mid-west in the US)
• He said Mike is his favorite person to prank with
• Q: “Is Linkin Park Greatest Hit an official album?” Phoenix: No, it’s not Linkin Park’s album.
• He likes Avenged Sevenfold, he’s surprised they haven’t toured with them yet. He bumps into them every now and then. He’d love to tour with them
• He’s in southern California right now in his home studio
• The new sound of the new album is definitely coming together in a lot different ways, since they’re still working with it. It could take a lot different directions, they’re pushing themselves in different ways, in new directions. He said this new album will be again different. He’s looking forward to the album
• Favorite European soccer team is Manchester United, when he’s in Europe he gets to see several teams play. His local team he supports is LA Galaxy.
• The first metal band he listened to other than Metallica is Anthrax. He likes what Paul McCarthy does with the bass
• Phoenix says he hopes that LP will play Robot Boy live, he said it will be hard and probably require Joe and himself to sing a lot of harmonies along with Chester and Mike
• In regard to a “heavier sound” in the new album, Phoenix answered he doesn’t know it depends on your taste in music is. If you think heavy is aggressive vocals then “yes, maybe…maybe not” he didn’t know how to answer that. But having said that he is excited with the new stuff and to play it live
• Phoenix said they have written 40-50 songs, they are focused right now on 15-20. Some are closer to finish than others, others need a lot of work.
• There’s no plans to release a live DVD of Linkin Park in Moscow, he said to the fans “couldn’t you just watch it online?”
• There will be no Tasty Snax reunion, since Mark Fiore is working on LPTV and such. Contact Mark to ask him.
• When Phoenix is on the road, Phoenix spends his time playing shows, traveling, trying to eat here and there, trying to work out, play golf once in a while.
• If Phoenix was not a musician he would have been a center forward for the Lakers, and maybe 7 ft tall. (Note: not sure if I got this one right)
• When Phoenix was in Asia, Phoenix got sick for two days so sick that he couldn’t get out of the bed, so instead of canceling the show, his bass tech, Ted filled his spot for the day Phoenix couldn’t perform and he did a great job. Might be the only time this has ever happened.
• He said his nickname came from a Ben Stiller movie, Mystery Men (that movie where he’s trying to impress a girl) the character in the movie named himself Phoenix and that nickname stuck with Phoenix (Dave).
• Phoenix said he doesn’t care nor does he think much about fakes on Twitter.
• He injured his ankle once (you’ll see it in the Live in Texas DVD)
• In live settings US fans are tight in the front, Europeans tend to be a up and down movement, side to side. In general all fans are awesome, and super supportive
• He said he loves Hybrid Theory, and playing the songs live.
• He exercises as a form of meditation
• He enjoys A Thousand Suns
• He couldn’t answer “Is the new album more experimental than A Thousand Suns” because they’re still working on it. In certain ways yes it is. It’s different than A Thousand Suns so far
• He’s eagerly expecting to see how the new album will turn out. And getting feedback from the fans
• He said LP try to blend in all older songs in the setlist
• He responded to LP only playing to two shows in Canada, he wants LP to play more in Canada (he’s also half Canadian)
• He recommended some books (didn’t really catch the names, sorry) he also said he read To Kill a Mockingbird in high school
• LP doesn’t really have a process on how to approach songs, he said they never left the mental mode of creating music after A Thousand Suns. They were always working on songs even on tour.
• Phoenix said that someone in LP has walked out of the studio in anger or frustration (not referring to making this new upcoming album, just a question he answered). They have their moments, he thinks whats nice about LP is that they’ve been together for a long time and really grown together like a family, and that makes things easier and a lot more enjoyable for sure. Probably affects how they music too.
• He loves cats but doesn’t like seeing cats all over the internet he mentioned to go to instagram or youtube and said you’ll see cats, lots of cats

• He said he doesn’t know when the new album will be out, they are working on it, they’ll put it out when it’s ready.
