Stone Temple Pilots to Perform at Stars of the Season // LPU Video Chat with Brad Delson on May 31

According to Stars of the Season’s facebook page, Stone Temple Pilots will be headlining this year’s Star of the Season benefit, as many of you know, Chester Bennington has often headlined the benefit in previous years and news about Stone Temple Pilots’ lead singer, Chester Bennington, will also be at this event.

LP Underground have announced that Brad Delson, Linkin Park’s guitarist, will be video chatting with LPU members on Friday, May 31 at 1PM PT, to be part of the chat, join the LP Underground.

Ninth International LPU Summit Announced in Hong Kong!

It’s been speculated previously and here it is! The 9th international LPU Summit will be held in Hong Kong on August 15, 2013. LPU Summit passes will be available HERE on June 1st (10am local time), as per usual if you have the LPU Plus Pass (paid $60) you get the pass for FREE. Otherwise, passes are $50 for those that have the $25 LPU membership, you could also purchase the LPU Plus Pass and just get it for free that way. Please remember these the LPU Summit passes are LIMITED. Only one pass per member, any friends going must get their own LPU membership.

The LP Underground will be hosting the 9th International LPU Summit on August 15, 2013 in Hong Kong*. Previous LPU Summits have taken place in London, Sydney, Chicago, Hamburg, Tokyo, Camden, Cape Town, and Auckland. Summit activities give fans experiences they can’t get anywhere else and are a special part of the LP Underground membership experience. You can watch the LPTV episode from the London Summit HERE.

PAST SUMMIT ACTIVITIES HAVE INCLUDED:

-Meet & Greet with Linkin Park
-Watching Linkin Park warm up on stage before doors
-Backstage tours
-Walking across Linkin Park’s stage
-Raffle for a chance to watch part of the show from the side of the stage or take photos from the photo pit
-Auction for signed and rare items like signed one-on-one photo with the band, Linkin Park award plaques, rare merchandise and more
-Meeting and hanging out with the Linkin Park crew
-Meeting Linkin Park fans from all over the world
-And lots, lots more…

Passes for the Summit will be available only to LPU members HERE starting Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 AM local Hong Kong time.* Summit passes are FREE for LPU Plus Pass ($60) members as a benefit to the membership. Members with a $25 LPU pass can purchase a Summit pass for $50, or purchase a new $60 LPU Plus Pass membership for access to a free pass. Members will only be able to reserve ONE Summit pass each, if you have friends who want to try to attend they must JOIN LPU to get access to this benefit.

There will be limited passes available for the Summit, and they will sell out FAST, so JOIN NOW to make sure you have the best chance for passes.

The Summit will begin the morning of Thursday, August 15 and will last all day.

Additional Summit details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Chester Bennington Says He’s Lead Singer of Both Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots [Video Interview]

KROQ’s Kevin and Bean got a chance to talk to Chester Bennington and the rest of Stone Temple Pilots backstage after their performance last night. In the interview they all explained what is happening, Stone Temple Pilots said that choosing Chester Bennington as a singer was the only choice, they were basically hoping that Chester would agree. In the interview Chester talked about what it was different like recording with Stone Temple Pilots compared with Linkin Park, he said STP has a sexier, classic rock feel to it and LP is a modern, tech-heavy type of band. Then, they talked about future plans (first lunch and hanging out with STP! Classic Chester answer), possibly a tour and album on the way, Chester said they couldn’t plan a tour until after the KROQ Weenie Roast. Chester talked about Linkin Park’s support for his Stone Temple Pilots project (even Dave was at KROQ’s Weenie Roast last night), he said he’s “not going to sacrifice anything with Linkin Park to do something outside Linkin Park but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to give 100% with what I’m doing with STP as well, I think it’s possible to do both”. Later, it was revealed that Scott Weiland (former lead singer of STP) didn’t know about STP + Chester. Watch the video interview below (if you can’t watch it below, watch it on YouTube here):

Chester Bennington Joins Stone Temple Pilots at KROQ’s Weenie Roast + New Promotional Pictures

Surprise performance! Certainly didn’t see this one coming, apparently, just a while ago Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington joined Stone Temple Pilots at KROQ’s Weenie Roast 2013 to debut the new Stone Temple Pilots song Out of Time, while Ted Stryker did tweet that “Chester Bennington is the new singer of STP. New song is called “Outta Time” and it was great.” he ended up deleting that tweet, so he isn’t the new singer permanently but he is filling the spot as singer for STP temporarily. Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn Talk New Linkin Park Album [Video Interview]

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn talked to Fuse, this is part 2 of the interview. Mike and Joe talked mainly about the new album, Mike did briefly mention that they only have one tour this year (Asia tour) implying no other tour (Europe, North America, etc). Joe said Linkin Park tried to approach it fresh, challenge themselves, try not to repeat what they do, Mike also mentioned that new music might make it on LPTV (YouTube). Mike didn’t say what the new album sounded like but right now Mike is writing a ton of music, and him and Chester are working on vocals. Watch the video interview below:

Linkin Park to Headline the Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles on August 3rd

The big announcement that LP Underground teased yesterday has been announced! Linkin Park will be headlining the Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles, CA on August 3, 2013! This will be Linkin Park’s only performance for the rest of 2013, LPU pre-sale as usual will be available to LPU members THIS noon PT, there’s even an exclusive section up front for LPU members. Public sale will be Wednesday, May 15 at 10AM PT.

Fuse had a chance to interview Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn about Music for Relief, how it was founded and then moved onto which specific countries they’re focusing on (Uganda, Haiti). The announcer later explained Mike’s involvement in SRS Haiti, although in this short video interview he didn’t really expand on what it was about but rather mentioned a story. With it being such a short interview perhaps there’ll be another video. View the video interview below:
