Mike surprised LPUers by dropping into the chatroom after the Brad chat whilst recording for their iHeartRadio station, we have a summary below and pictures in the gallery, sorry this is late, the chat crashed on me so we had to wait for the rip (thanks holding_an_enemy via Ebi_Delson!).

  • Set lists: “The set lists change, it’s not just the songs we wanna play for a certain crowd, a lot of times it has to do maybe with how our voices are doing, or what we played last time we played that city, for example, if we played a certain setlist in a city, we probably want to come back and play a different setlist that time, so whereas when you come to a show you may want to see a certain song or not want to see a certain song, it does matter to us that other people have been there before, have seen the band before, and we try to keep a bit of variety in it, and then like in the case of, some sets, at certain points, Chester and I are on the road playing a lot of shows, like 4 shows a week sometimes, if we have a bunch in a row our voices just get tired and then its harder to hit certain notes and we may cut a song for those reasons.”
  • Commenters on his blog: “I got a blog as a lot of you know, it’s mikeshinoda.com, I try and post on it as often as I can, a lot of times when I’m on the road, I post a little bit more, do some photos, do some updates on what’s going on in the studio, what’s going on with my art etc, and once in a while I like to just check in with the folks who read the blog, see what they’re doing, one thing I did recently was checking out some of the music the people who read the blog make, because I know there are a lot of fans who make their own music, and one band that, there was a couple of them who could get a shoutout, we had a few different submissions and people said ‘check this guy out, check this out’, there was a song my Omnission that was really cool, I would play that but we couldn’t find a clean version so I’ll just give him a shoutout, another one that got a lot of attention on my blog was Forget Me Forgive Me, by Missing Ships, I really liked it, hope you guys do too, here’s Missing Ships with Forget Me, Forgive Me.”
  • He’d like to play Mexico, Scotland, and Greece.
  • He play’s air guitar.
  • He doesn’t know if they’ll play Blackout at DeLuna fest
  • He like’s cheesecake
  • He was trying to think whose supporting them in Las Vegas, someone said Edible Cows, he said if they came out with a band called Edible Cows he’s definitely play their music.
  • He talked about Music For Relief, you will hear that when the radio show is released.
  • He let the LPUers call into the show, they talked about the LPU Summit, Linkin Park not being typical rock ‘n’ rollers, the show in Moscow, the Adele cover and Chester’s voice, Linkin Park fan tattoos, Comic-con.
  • On being on tour away from their families: “We all very much like home-bodies, we love to be at home and we have a lot of family and loved-ones at home and defenitely it gets to be a little tough, sometimes, it’s nice to be in our position where we can arrange to tour with our families sometimes, the tours are spread about abit cause we’re able to do that, as if we were a small band touring in one bus, you couldn’t bring all your family and friends out, it would be a lot tougher to do, we feel greatful to be able to do that and definetely makes life easier, and by the way, to be able to do that keeps our mental stamina up and that means that we will be touring for longer, and doing this for longer because we’re not all worn out and not going through and drama.”
  • He said a greatest hits tour might be something they could think about, they’re going to consider adding older songs they haven’t played in a while to the set lists, but some band members don’t like to play certain songs.
  • He said that they could release and EP/shorter album in the future, but with ATS they liked that they made an album.
